Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Priory Centre, St Neots

At Beacon, we are proud supporters of the arts and recently supported a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by VAMPS, an amateur dramatic society based in St Neots, running from 9-12 November 2023. Formed in 1961, the group stages a popular musical or variety show each Spring and Autumn, and is a staple of the local arts scene.

We were very proud to once again sponsor the fantastic annual Fireworks display at Kimbolton Castle, organised by the Kimbolton School Parents Association.

Each and every year this display brings over 9,000 people to Kimbolton to enjoy one of the very best displays in the region by the brilliant Titanium Fireworks, who themselves have ties to Kimbolton.

Congratulations and well done Lily, our competition winner in collaboration with Black Cat Radio, who won the chance to go up on stage and start the display!

It is almost time for the dazzling fireworks display at Kimbolton Castle, and Beacon are the proud sponsors once again.

Competition

We are excited to announce that we are running a competition for a lucky winner to PRESS THE PLUNGER ON STAGE AT THE EVENT TO START THE DISPLAY.

The winner must be aged between 5 and 11 years old.

Two adults will be granted free entry into the event to accompany the selected winner (children under 16 go free).

We are delighted to announce that the lucky winner was Eva, age 9, from St Neots . Congratulations Eva. We will provide an update of the evening and how Eva got on, after the event.

The Meadow is in Bloom

The pictorial wildflower meadow, which was gifted to St Neots’ riverside park by local company Beacon Wealth Group, is starting to bloom and has been welcomed with warmth by the community.

The meadow which spans roughly 540m2 is situated along the river where dredging took place earlier this year, and sits beautifully in front of the bench that the company also gifted to the park at the start of 2021, as shown in the photo.

Beacon Wealth Group Director, Tony Larkins, commented “The idea of the meadow, along with bench, was to offer the community recognition after what has been an extremely difficult and unexpected 18 months, and a place to sit and reflect. We hope that it is enjoyed by all.”

Beacon Wealth Group Donates Covid-19 Bench to Local Community

Beacon Wealth Group show their respects to their local community by offering a peaceful place of reflection in St Neots Riverside Park.

To celebrate the local community’s unity, to say thank you and show their support to those affected during these unprecedented times, Beacon Wealth Group announced back in January that they were going to arrange to place a special bench in St Neots Riverside.

Following this announcement Beacon Wealth Group asked the public to choose the design of the bench via a public pole on social media. The winning design, pictured, won with 66.7% of the vote.

Following the success of Beacon’s public vote the Council decided to order more of these benches and have started situating them around Priory Park and St Neots Riverside Park.

Molly Ward, Open Spaces Officer (pictured below with Tony Larkins and Business Development Manager Natasha) said ‘We really liked Beacon’s idea of being able to provide the public a special place to rest and reflect after this past year and a half, and decided to continue this throughout our local parks. We love that the local community have themselves chosen the design and are enjoying watching them being out in the open spaces using them.’

Tony Larkins, Beacons Managing Director said, ‘The pandemic has been hard on everyone, in many different ways, and if this can bring a little bit of light to a dark situation then it will have been worth it.’

The bench features a blue butterfly with a special plaque which reads ‘This bench has been placed here by Beacon Wealth Group to symbolise the strength in our community during the Covid-19 pandemic.’
